A.g. Synclair- A Poem

The Ego Has Landed

There was nothing to fear then
that first morning
when the snow turned us away
and I fell in love
with the hands of a bird.

It was colder then
distance fractured by time bombs.

These notes remind me
that our colors are simple.

Do we need these mountains
this water
this wilted breath
pinched between our fingers?
