Theresa A. Cancro- Two Poems

uttering

cruel world
cuts me   sharp knife
cleaves words, serrated edge

slices, nips, jabs
snickers in the corner --
fun (no) numbing my touch

breach the core,
carve the sorest
spot, plunge deep

I can barely breathe

Venus' Mark

Venus casts a beauty spot
on the Sun tonight,
one even Marilyn
would envy at
the corner of her
                       mouth.

Venus has style;
she arrives at those provocative sites
as evening approaches
to seduce us,
and we watch --
entranced.
