J.J. Campbell- Two Poems

even suicide is pointless

you ever get so alone that
it becomes apparent that
even suicide is pointless

that no one would even
recognize you were gone

there is nothing more
alone than indifference

that numbing reality that
despite all the effort your
existence hasn't made a
dent on the world

at all

try sleeping with that over
your head each night and
see how long you can last

the observation of pain

the
woman
of my
dreams
is
married
to
another
woman

talk
about
living
a life
where
you are
constantly
swimming
upstream

J.J. Campbell (1976 - soon) lives and writes on a farm in Ohio. He's currently growing a playoff beard and is tempted to never shave again. He's been published many times over the years, most notably at Nerve Cowboy, Chiron Review, Zygote in My Coffee, Underground Voices, and Thunder Sandwich. His latest book, Sofisticated White Trash, can be found wherever they happen to sell books these days. You can find this asshole most days on his blog, evil delights (http://evildelights.blogspot.com), bitching about something that only he cares about.
