Ananya S. Guha- A Poem

Live Forever

Then there are
only open
spaces to think, breathe
water logged streets
only reminder
that some
are
sinking into bedrock of stones
rushing into torrents
traffic snarl
that all are not at home
humbugs
at least baby sitting, some
and some like me
are left with remnants of
smoked words, rotting flesh
like those baboons in hilarious
rants
poems will not succumb
Oh tell me
to history's proscribed laws
buried dead by antagonists
protagonists

Some,
will
live
forever.
