Serpentine Rising

I can feel it
Can you?
The cold is closing in
With hissing cruel snarls
The end now begins
The truth slithers forth
In their bared fangs
Poison dripping
All mankind's lies
Slowly dying

As one
The monsters rise
Singing our last song of despair
Mayhem overruns
Death from the skies rains down
And still they crawl on
Ever closer to that final victory
The bittersweet sting of the last
Breath of life
Once and for all
Snuffed out

They've learned
From lessons of hate
We have taught them too well
Beneath our amour
Shown them
Our most fatal of flaws
Our most terrible weaknesses
And so now we must surrender
The dream given in
To the nightmare
A thousand screams
Never to be silenced

If only this were all
Just another bad movie
A horrible script
From the lowest bowels of Hollyweird
Sadly it is not
Wicked they came
Wicked forever
They will stay
Venomous nature
Unleashed
Uncoiling
To at last
Take their turns
To be our most vile of masters
In the serpentine rising
Too late we saw coming
